Ingredients
- 200 g ground beef
- 50 g ground pork belly
- 1 egg (for patties)
- 1 tbsp cornstarch
- 1 onion
- 250 g flour
- 20 g sugar
- 2 g salt
- 3 g yeast
- 1 egg (for dough)
- 120 ml milk
- 40 g butter
- 1 egg (for egg wash)
- to taste white sesame seeds
- to taste ketchup
- 4 slices cheese
- to taste lettuce
Instructions
- 1Sauté the Onions

Melt butter in a pan and add chopped onions, sautéing them over heat until fragrant and softened, then set them aside.
Tip: Sautéing the onions until fragrant adds deep flavor to the beef patties. - 2Season the Meat Mixture

Combine 200g of ground beef and 50g of ground pork belly in a bowl, then season with salt and black pepper.
Tip: Adding ground pork belly to the beef provides extra moisture and richness for juicier patties. - 3Mix the Patty Ingredients

Add an egg, a spoonful of cornstarch, and the previously sautéed onions into the seasoned meat bowl, mixing everything in one direction until firm and sticky.
Tip: Stirring in one direction helps the meat proteins bind together so the patties hold their shape. - 4Pan-Fry the Patties

Shape the prepared meat mixture into thick patties and pan-fry them over low heat until fully cooked through, then set aside.
Tip: Cook over low heat to ensure the thick patties cook completely through without burning the exterior. - 5Prepare the Dough

Combine 250g of flour, 20g of sugar, 2g of salt, 3g of yeast, an egg, and 120ml of milk in a bowl, stirring until it forms a dough.
Tip: Make sure the milk is lukewarm if you want to activate the yeast more quickly. - 6Brush with Egg Wash

Brush an egg wash onto the shaped burger buns and sprinkle with white sesame seeds before air frying.
Tip: The egg wash gives the buns a golden, shiny finish when baked or air fried. - 7Slice the Bun and Add Ketchup

Take the freshly baked burger bun and slice it open horizontally. Spread an even layer of ketchup on the inside of the bottom half to add flavor.
Tip: Make sure the bun has cooled slightly before slicing so it doesnt tear. - 8Knead and Proof the Dough

Add butter into the prepared dough and knead until smooth and fully incorporated. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and let the dough rise in a warm place until it doubles in size.
Tip: Ensure the butter is at room temperature for easier incorporation into the dough.
