10-Minute Sausage
Kimchi Bean Sprout Soup
This quick and comforting 10-minute Korean-inspired soup combines spicy kimchi, crisp bean sprouts, and savory sausages in a rich sesame broth.
Perfect for busy days when you need something deeply flavorful but fast, this Korean-style soup relies on the fermented tang of kimchi to build an instant broth base. The addition of pre-cooked sausages adds a savory depth that pairs beautifully with the refreshing crunch of fresh bean sprouts.
Ingredients
- 1 cup Korean kimchi, chopped
- 2-3 pre-cooked sausages, sliced
- 2 cups fresh bean sprouts
- 2-3 cloves garlic, sliced
- 1 tbsp sesame oil
- 2 cups water
- to taste soy sauce
- to taste salt
- 1-2 tbsp white sesame seeds
- 1 scallion, chopped
Instructions
- 1Prepare and arrange ingredients

Gather all the necessary components for the soup: pre-cooked sausages, Korean kimchi, whole garlic, and fresh bean sprouts. Process everything into appropriate bite-sized pieces and set them aside alongside sesame oil and sesame seeds.
Tip: Chop the ingredients uniformly so they cook evenly and easily fit onto a spoon. - 2Heat sesame oil in the pot

Place a metal pot on the gas stove and heat it over medium-low heat. Pour a measured amount of sesame oil into the bottom of the pot to build a rich and aromatic base.
Tip: Keep the heat at medium-low to prevent the delicate sesame oil from burning or turning bitter. - 3Sauté aromatics, kimchi, and sausage

Add sliced garlic, kimchi, and sliced sausages into the heated pot with the sesame oil. Stir-fry them together slightly until the flavors begin to release and meld into one another.
Tip: Frying the kimchi briefly draws out its sour depth and enhances the overall savory quality of the sausage. - 4Add water and bring to a boil

Pour water from a bowl directly into the pot containing the stir-fried kimchi, garlic, and sausage mixture. Turn up the heat slightly and bring the liquid to a rolling boil.
Tip: Ensure the water level covers all the ingredients evenly to form a balanced soup stock. - 5Simmer and add bean sprouts

Allow the soup to simmer on low heat for 2 to 3 minutes, then introduce fresh bean sprouts and scallion sections into the pot. Season with soy sauce and salt to taste.
Tip: Do not overcook the bean sprouts so they retain their signature crisp texture in the soup.
